Service agreement

Terms

Effective August 15, 2026

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement to use DubScan. Accounts are personal and may not be shared or used to evade a moderation or payment restriction.

Verification service

DubScan provides a technology-assisted, specialist-reviewed assessment of submitted audio. A result identifies the finding DubScan considers best supported by the available evidence— authentic dub, splice detected, artist identity mismatch, or AI-generated dub—and includes a confidence factor and dance-floor verdict. “DubScan Approved · Safe to play in a dance” means the reviewed evidence supports presenting that recording as an authentic dub. Findings and play recommendations are evidence-based opinions, not guarantees of copyright, ownership, legal authenticity, public-performance rights, venue permission, or the intent of any seller.

24-hour service level

DubScan will publish a result within 24 hours after every file in a paid batch finishes uploading. When a source does not respond by the deadline, DubScan may publish the best supported finding with a lower confidence factor and explain the limitation. Service outages, corrupted files, unlawful material, and events outside DubScan’s reasonable control are excluded.

Your upload rights

You must have the lawful right to possess and upload the audio for private verification. You may not submit malware, unrelated content, or material that violates another person’s privacy or rights. You grant DubScan the limited permission necessary to store, analyze, review, and—only when separately authorized—share the minimum necessary audio with the claimed artist or official engineer for source confirmation.

Audio retention and deletion

During upload, you choose between keeping audio in your private vault until you delete it and deleting it automatically when a result is published. You may manually delete audio at any time. Deletion is permanent. Deleting an unfinished check withdraws it from review and does not create a refund or replacement credit. DubScan retains the original filename, upload metadata, written verification record, and audit history as described in the Privacy Policy.

Payments, subscriptions, and refunds

The one-off price is charged per check. Monthly plan checks reset each billing cycle and do not roll over. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled before the next renewal. Verification charges are non-refundable once a file is submitted for analysis, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Canceling a subscription stops future renewal and does not refund prior charges or unused checks.

Engineering marketplace and authentic re-cut quotes

A request to source and re-cut an authentic dub is a separate custom-fee workflow. A quote request is not a purchase commitment. No re-cut work begins until you affirmatively accept the quoted scope and price. Mix/master and remix orders are separate fixed-price launch services: $20 for mix/master and $25 for remix. You select an approved engineer before checkout. A remix requires a riddim you have the right to upload or a lawful public HTTPS reference link. Verification fees do not apply to engineering work, and engineering does not change a finding.

DubScan records a disclosed marketplace commission, currently 15% unless a different rate is shown before acceptance. Stripe Connect may settle the engineer automatically. Where an engineer chooses manual settlement, DubScan may pay the recorded net amount out of band through PayPal, Zelle, or Cash App and retain a private settlement reference. Engineer profiles and service ranges are supplied by the engineer and require founder approval; approval is not a warranty of results.

The verification no-refund rule does not automatically decide an engineering dispute. Engineering cancellations, non-delivery, material scope failures, revisions, chargebacks, and any legally required refund are reviewed under the accepted order scope and applicable payment rules.

Private source reports

Source or seller reports must be truthful and submitted in good faith. They are private investigative leads, not public accusations. DubScan may restrict accounts that submit harassment, doxxing, fabricated evidence, or retaliatory reports.

Members-only community

Community posts, replies, ranked links, and votes are supplied by members and express their own views. They are not DubScan verification findings and are not verified, endorsed, or adopted by DubScan. A high vote count is not a certification, seller warranty, safety finding, or promise that a future transaction or recording will be authentic. Members recommending links must disclose ownership, employment, commissions, affiliate interests, or other material relationships. Members must distinguish first-hand experience from opinion, and may not post harassment, threats, doxxing, private contact details, impersonation, copyrighted audio, or claims they know are false. DubScan may restrict, review, preserve, or remove content and accounts under its moderation rules. A private login limits access but does not guarantee confidentiality; other members may copy or disclose what you post. Report unlawful or harmful content to moderation@dubscan.com.

Profiles and milestone badges

Profile roles, biographies, organizations, and locations are supplied by members unless a profile is expressly marked identity verified. Badges recognize published participation rules; they are not endorsements, background checks, seller certifications, or evidence that a member is trustworthy. Do not place private contact details in a member profile.

Private messages

DubScan member messages use participant-controlled end-to-end encryption. You are responsible for safeguarding your recovery phrase; DubScan cannot recover it or restore message history that your key can no longer decrypt. DubScan still processes limited metadata, including participant identifiers and timestamps. If you report a message, you expressly choose to decrypt and share that selected text with moderators. Reports are participant-supplied excerpts and are reviewed with surrounding account and safety signals. Blocking a member stops new messages but does not erase prior ciphertext or required safety records.

Optional WhatsApp bridge

WhatsApp is an optional interim channel adapter, not the system of record. Alert-only mode sends no message body. If you enable the managed bridge, you authorize Meta, the connected WhatsApp Business account, DubScan, and any clearly disclosed automation provider to process bridged message content. Managed-bridge content does not have the same participant-only privacy as an unbridged DubScan message. Automated replies must be labeled, and you may turn the bridge off without deleting your existing DubScan history.

Events, tickets, and promoter payouts

Promoters are responsible for accurate event details, capacity, entry rules, lineup claims, required permits, accessibility information, taxes, and delivering the advertised event. DubScan provides listing, checkout, signed mobile-ticket, and check-in tools; it is not the event organizer unless a listing expressly says otherwise. Single-use ticket codes may not be posted publicly, duplicated, resold, or used after a successful check-in.

Paid-ticket pricing shows the ticket subtotal, DubScan service fee, and estimated card-processing charge before purchase. The promoter sets the ticket refund policy, subject to applicable law, cancellation, material rescheduling, chargeback rules, and payment-processor requirements. Promoter proceeds remain pending until payment clears and may be settled manually or through an enabled Stripe-connected account. DubScan may hold or reverse settlement for refunds, disputes, fraud, duplicate inventory, or legal obligations.

Event archives and media rights

Promoters may publish authorized posters, photos, videos, links, and set recordings after an event. The uploader must own the material or have all permissions needed from performers, photographers, venues, and recognizable attendees. Event media is culture content, not a DubScan authenticity finding. DubScan may remove disputed or unlawful material and preserve limited evidence needed to handle a rights complaint.

Music catalog and verified-DJ record pool

Artists and authorized representatives may submit recordings, artwork, release information, purchase links, and optional prices for a public catalog. The uploader must control every right needed to publish those materials and must accurately identify any third-party sales destination. DubScan does not become the owner, label, publisher, or performing-rights licensor of submitted music.

A record-pool submission is available only to identity-verified profiles with the DJ / selecta role while it remains restricted. Pool access is for evaluation and lawful promotional use under the artist's stated note and embargo; it is not permission to redistribute, resell, leak, train a model on, or publicly perform a recording without the rights otherwise required. Save, rotation, pass, and note responses are DJ-supplied signals, not DubScan endorsements or airplay guarantees.

Contributor stories, podcasts, shows, and video

Contributors retain ownership of their original work and grant DubScan a non-exclusive license to host, display, stream, format, promote, and distribute submitted text and media through the service until removal, plus limited archival rights needed for disputes and legal compliance. Contributors must have publication rights, disclose material commercial relationships, credit sources appropriately, and avoid unlawful media, private information, plagiarism, fabricated reporting, impersonation, or knowingly false factual claims. Contributor views are their own and are not DubScan verification findings or official positions.

Artist dub marketplace, reviews, and referrals

Artist listings are creator-supplied offers subject to founder review. Checkout records the brief, quoted gross price, DubScan marketplace commission, artist net, payment, delivery, and payout state. The commission shown at checkout is currently 15% unless a different disclosed rate applies. DubScan facilitates the transaction but does not guarantee artistic style, commercial outcome, copyright clearance, public-performance permission, or delivery outside the accepted brief. Order cancellation, revision, non-delivery, dispute, chargeback, and legally required refund handling follow the accepted scope and payment rules; the verification-service no-refund rule does not automatically control them.

Only a buyer with a delivered or completed order may submit an order review. Reviews express the buyer's experience, may be moderated, and may not include retaliation, private information, or false claims. Eligible referral links may allocate 20% of DubScan's marketplace commission—not the artist's listed net—to the recorded referrer after a qualifying paid order. Self-referrals, artist or buyer referrals on their own transaction, manipulation, refunded orders, and unlawful promotion are excluded. Referral rewards remain pending until earned and may be reversed for a refund, dispute, fraud, or law.
